 Summary
This role will report to the Business Controller to build, maintain and analyze reporting needs across the company helping the organization to make informed decisions. This position will be an in-office position in Cary, NC.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Quantitative Economics, Business, Finance or a related field preferred
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Computer: Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with tools like Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, and full Microsoft Suite for analyzing and visualizing data.
  • Understanding how to manage and retrieve data from databases is essential

  • Ability to conduct thorough research to gather relevant data and insights
  • Data Interpretation: Skill in interpreting complex data and translating it into easily understandable terminology and imaging for all audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify trends and patterns in data
  • Ensuring accuracy in data analysis and report writing

Communication Skills:
  • Excellent writing skills to create clear, concise, and well-structured reports
  • Ability to edit and refine reports to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Skills in presenting data and findings in a way that is easily understandable to stakeholders

Organizational Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Skill in organizing and planning reports to ensure they are comprehensive and logical
Essential Functions
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from various business systems.
  • Pull and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports, providing key insights into business performance.
  • Support and participate in projects to design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using reporting tools
Performance Metrics:
  • Support and work with the business controller to monitor and track business performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Support and help to complete monthly and quarterly budget-to-actual variance analyses.
  • Compile reports and other data to support cost control analyses.
  • Support and participate in the monthly review of departmental P&L statements and help to compile various management reports based on these reviews.
  • Help to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
  • Compile findings from various analyses into a concise format for review and further communication to management or other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
  • Present findings and insights to management and stakeholders, tailoring reports to different audiences.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for improving data reporting processes and systems.
  • Creation of processes to identify inaccurate data and inform stakeholders
  • Automate repetitive reporting tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Continuously learn new reporting techniques and tools to enhance business analysis.
Forecasting, Annual Planning and Trend Analysis:
  • Support and participate in the creation of the annual operating plan for the business.
  • Maintain and generate various reports and data sets that are used in the annual operating plan and the creation of certain proforma analyses.
  • Support the business controller in the development of various forecasts, proforma analyses, and data analysis projects
