Summary

This position is responsible to comprehensively and competently evaluate exterior facades to determine deficiencies, variables, and requirements, as well as accurately estimate and sell residential contracts to meet individual sales budget goals. It requires a consultative approach to selling and advising customers as to options, upgrades, and requirements, based upon a thorough knowledge and understanding of products and services offered.  This position also requires effective, professional written and verbal communication skills to include, but not limited to, comprehensive contract verbiage, documentation, and explanatory communication.  Negotiation and computer skills are a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Education
  • 3 Years of Sales Experience
  • Driver License: Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to assess the potential project:
  • Salespeople are to carry a 28’ ladder to be used to get on roofs that can be safely accessed
  • Where roofs are too steep or unsafe to access from the rooftop, the ladder should be set up at key locations at the roof perimeter to view, access, and photograph each roof plane
  • Should it be impossible to view certain key areas of the roof, the salesperson should call operations and request assistance before work is priced. Work should not be priced until uncertainties are cleared up
  • Attic space should always be investigated. Items to consider are penetrations, soffit intake, attic exhaust vents, structural elements, stained decking and condition, temperature, and evidence of excessive moisture presence
  • Camera phone is to be used to photograph pertinent and/or required items at initial evaluation and uploaded into photo repository
Scope of Work Entry:
  • All information pertaining to the scope of work and measurements will be added to the existing on-line Sales/Operations system of record

Essential Functions

Communication
  • Consult with the customer to educate them on what you are recommending
  • Educate the customer on how Bake Home Exteriors is different from other companies
  • Communicate to the customer when to expect the proposal if it is not delivered on-site
  • When sold, go over the final proposal to ensure all parties agree to the scope of work including colors, warranty, etc
  • When sold, communicate to the customer tentative start date
Ensure a start meeting occurs with assigned project manager prior to installation
